Vision Recap

Hey guys. I've just been scrolling tru the old posts of this blog, and found something real interesting posted more than 3 years back. Enjoy! (note the red words and it's context with extra attention)

The following is taken from a post in March 2006 about Methodist Youth Prayer Conference, 2006.

During the third session of today, Uncle Mark was preaching about the baptism of the holy spirit and about spiritual gifts such as seeing vision and speaking in tongues. I wanted this gift from the Lord very badly and Uncle Mark was saying pray and don't stop praying until you get the gift. What Uncle Mark said is true.

This day was really interesting. We were split into groups and we were asked to pray and wait for the holy spirit to reveal to us. While we were praying, suddenly an image came into my mind. It was a straight path and a man starting to walk along that path. On that path, there were blockages. I didn't know it was from God until I shared this with my group members. Then I prayed over it. This time I thought about Alpha (a youth program currently being held in our church). The meaning of the man starting to walk the path in the image is like our youth starting this Youth Alpha, and the blockages is the problems that we face during this program. I was really surprised, I am so young and I can see images like this. I am really happy that God gave me this gift. I felt that my love for God is growing deeper. Even now when I hold a bible in my hands, my tears will start to pour out because of the vision Jesus suffering for us to die on the cross.

First things first, i'm not exactly sure who saw this vision and who were the witnesses. But, i feel that this vision applies to us alot now. We are walking down the part in our lives and especially as MYFers but there are blockages along the way, stumbling blocks which has stunted our growth in numbers (the most noticable), in our growth with the Lord and with each other. It has stumbled us and hurt us and now we struggle to do the things we once were best in. So we must pray, and seek God on how to remove this stumbling blocks, because The Awesome One knows what is happening, and even gave us ample warning on what is to happen (like how are we stumbling now). It also is another evidence that our God is All-knowing and All-powerful that He is able to grant visions that symbolises the future. Also, do note that the path is straight, which means that we are not to turn from the path and maintain our righteous path in God and keep Him our sight. "and I will make your paths straight". This also means that we are to become a major effect in our people around us as straight means efficiency and quickness once we are able to overcome those barriers.

Therefore, people, take heart.
