A small little teeny weeny note...

This is your missions director here. Yep, it's me, Timothy.

Since i noticed this blog is still as stagnant as ever, i've decided to add this little (edit: not really. It's damn long) post, hopefully to get things started. Forgive me, Andrew and Brian.

Anyways.

I noticed that most of you have written about desiring our youth group to grow under the 'needs' section on the paper our very dear 'perasan' president passed around last Sunday, since i was the very privileged last person to fill in that piece of paper. So i shall talk a bit about that. Sorry if any offense is caused coz i'm not a person who minces his words, as you may have noticed of late.

-------

Firstly, i'm glad that you guys are passionate about our youth growing in numbers. Coz this is one big thing that unites us together and make things move in our youth. In fact, it's an healthy thing to be passionate about getting more people into our youth. In striving together we can get more people into the Kingdom of God. So, we should get moving.

How?

Firstly, we can start praying. Prayer is all not that hard a thing. It's like talking to a friend, serious. The only difference is that you can't see Him. If you're close to your earthly father, just imagine talking to a Heavenly father. It's that easy. As you get closer to God, trust me, the prayers will get longer, and more often. An easy way to start is by telling Him all that has happened on that day and thanking Him for it. Then we can petition for God to start moving in our youth. It sounds scary, i know, but it's very easy and it's worth it. Follow the words of the song, All Day. (i will read my bible and pray, and i will follow You all day)

However, (my favourite word! :-P)

Juz praying is not wise. We ourselves must start moving. You can start inviting our friends, and brainstorm on what we can do to draw people in. Team work is what we need. We need to be united, strong, and determined. All of us have to chip in our part. Don't be intimidated by 'Super-humans' such as Rekha, Uncle Chie, Andrew, Sheng Yong, or even me, because we are just as human as you are, and we dearly appreciate your views. Even if it is disagreement. Trust us, we are not all so great. Don't feel that you are not important as you are young or insignificant. If we have anyway made you feel that way, we (i trust the others will back me up in this?) sincerely apologize. Do tell us though if it's true.

Thirdly,

Do remember to tap into God's power whenever you do things, especially when it comes to regards of in our youth group. By praying and trusting that as long we do our very best, God will call the shots, the door for the Holy Spirit to move into our youth group and changing it (and our lives in the process) will be flung wide open. It might take time, but this is how we should do it. Apathy is the biggest enemy of our youth.

So, let's get started. Do email me at kltomato@hotmail.com/tomatolewis@gmail.com if anything. I will be happy to reply you. Oh, if you desire to blog abit yourself on this humble space, do feel free to drop a line (or your blog post) into our MYF gmail account, grace.sentul.myf@gmail.com. There's a first time for everything. Including blogging. Besides, no harm in reviving this blog abit more than what it is. Feel free to leave comments and prayer requests... even on this blog.

That's all from me. Do remember 1 Timothy 4:12 (if you don't know/forgot what it is, look it up in your bible-lah). I hope this helps.

-Tim
